Jack L. Booker, 80, of Toulon, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Toulon Health Care. Funeral services will be at Noon on Friday, March 31st at First Baptist Church, Toulon. Pastor Al Harmon will officiate. Burial will be in Toulon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to noon on Friday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 206 or St. Jude’s Children's Hospital. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge, is assisting the family.
Jackie Lee Booker was born June 8, 1942, in Kewanee, the son of Garnett and N. Lucille (House) Booker. He was educated in Henry & Stark Counties and graduated from Toulon High School in 1960. He attended the Black Hawk Law Enforcement Training Center in East Moline. His marriage to Jacki Lamb took place on May 6, 1983, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The couple had most recently lived in Sarasota FL from 2007 to 2021 and currently in Dunlap, TN. Making many special friends along the way.
He was a pilot and had spent many hours flying people out of the Kewanee Airport before becoming a part-time police officer in Atkinson. He then was employed as a full-time deputy for the Henry Count Sheriff's office where he worked from 1973 until retiring in 1996. Jack was an avid golfer and always joined county clubs in the areas where he lived. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
Those surviving are his wife, Jacki, a daughter, Jaquie and son, William, from a previous marriage, two sisters, Carol Tabor, Kewanee, and Cynthia (Dale) Jackson, Toulon. Other survivors include many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. His parents preceded him in death.
