Howard E. Rapp, 73, of rural Galva, died Monday, August 17, 2015, at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo. Cremation has been accorded and a private memorial service will be held Thursday, August 20th, at the Cambridge United Methodist Church. Rev. David Joyce will officiate. Interment of the cremains will follow at the Bishop Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Cambridge United Methodist Church. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Cambridge, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Howard Eugene Rapp was born August 19, 1941 in Kewanee, the son of Lawrence F. and Mildred L. Lundeen Rapp. He attended Bishop Hill and Galva schools. In his early years, he farmed with his father. Howard was a partner with Harold Nordeen in a painting business for 30 years. He enjoyed collecting antiques and refinishing furniture.
Those surviving are sisters and brothers-in-law, Elaine and Raymond VanSkike, Monmouth, Sharon and Gerry Verstraete, Moline, Pat and John Seys, Coal Valley, Cindy and Marv VanDyke, Cambridge, a brother, Dennis Rapp, Cambridge, a brother and sister-in-law, Harland and Cindy Rapp, Cambridge, a sister-in-law, Donna Rapp, Cambridge, and several nieces and nephews. His parents, a brother, Gary Rapp, and a niece, Dana VanDyke, preceded him in death.
