Guy "Jeep" P Jones

Guy P. "Jeep" Jones, 84, formerly of Galva and Cambridge, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Snyder Village in Metamora, Illinois.  Cremation has been accorded and a memorial visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3rd, at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge.  Graveside committal service will follow at the Galva Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Snyder Village Resident in Need Fund..

Guy Perry Jones was born September 2, 1938 in Kewanee, the son of Glenn H. and Mildred Grant Jones.  He was educated in Galva schools and graduated from Galva High School in 1956.  His first marriage was to Donna Worrell.  They later divorced.  He married Gretchen Erkel on June 16, 1972 in Galva.

He worked for John Deere, the City of Galva, the Galva Foundry, Lord Chevrolet, Galva, Pine Trailer, Kewanee, and retired from Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge.  His hobbies were riding his recumbent bicycle around Cambridge, riding motorcycles, jogging, attending motorcycle races, and his grandchildren's activities.

Those surviving are his wife, Gretchen, two children from his first marriage, Dwain "Harv" (Sandy) Jones, Morrison, IL, and Gail (Brian) Kenney, Galva, a daughter from his marriage to Gretchen, Barbara (C.J.) Ramage, Germantown Hills, IL, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one on the way in June.  His parents, a son, Robert, and a brother, Jerry, preceded him in death.
