Grace M. Ruhnow, 87, of Geneseo a resident of Good Samaritan Village, Geneseo died there on Friday, December 4, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 8th at Concordia Lutheran Church, Geneseo. Rev. John Wohlrabe will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, 225 E. Park St., Geneseo. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Village, Geneseo
Grace Lowe was born November 19, 1922 in Hugo, Colorado the daughter of John H. and Georgia P. (Rote) Lowe. She had attended school in Reynolds, IL. She married Howard A. Mix on December 9, 1939 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Davenport. She later married William J. Ruhnow on June 5, 1971 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Geneseo. He died on February 23, 2003. Grace worked as an executive waitress at John Deere Administration Building for 17 years.
Memberships include Concordia Lutheran Church, Geneseo and CLL group of the church, and the Henry County Farm Bureau. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, sewing, bowling and had been a Girl Scout leader.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Connie and Jerry Ruhnow, Osco, and Maxine Robinson, East Moline; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Darlene Mix, Coal Valley; step daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Brian Wells, Moline; and step son Gary Ruhnow, Coal Valley; eight grandchildren, five step grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, three sisters and a brother.
