Grace D. Gillespie, 80, of Kewanee, formerly of Mineral, IL died on Saturday, January 02, 2016 at Good Samaritan Village, Geneseo.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 8 th at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Annawan.  Rev. Terry Lancaster will officiate.  Burial will be in Wethersfield Cemetery, Kewanee.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Sheffield-Mineral Rescue Unit or Mineral- Gold Fire Department.

Grace Wright was born July 12, 1935 in Erie, IL the daughter of Harry L. and Margaret (Ballard) Wright.  She graduated from Mineral High School, class of 1955.  Grace had worked at Riley Store, Mineral for many years.  She also kept the books for Mineral Elevator and FC Dewey Elevator and Mineral Oil.  She also had worked as a waitress at Chuck Wagon, Mineral and the Peppertree Inn.

Grace had received her E.M.T. training and served on the Mineral Sheffield Rescue Squad for many years.  She had also served on the Mineral Gold Fire Department.  Grace bowled for many years at the Annawan Bowling Alley and in her early years enjoyed playing softball.  She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Duane (Regina) Gillespie, Kewanee, daughter, Denise (Ronald) Armstrong, Kewanee, three grandchildren, Lauren and Sara Gillespie, and Dylan Armstrong, and two brothers, Larry Wright, in South Carolina and John Riley, Frisco, TX.  Her parents, step-father John Riley, granddaughter, Renee, and a brother Carl Wright all preceded her in death.
