G. Marlene Moore, 84, of Geneseo died on Sunday, February 7th in Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 12th at the Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Geneseo. Rev. Roger Perry will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
Geraldine Marlene Haurez was born on February 28, 1936 in Danville, IL the daughter of Henry and Geraldine “Gerry” (Keerns) Haurez. She was raised and educated in the Danville area. On October 2, 1955 she married Gene R. Moore in Danville, IL. The couple had resided in Danville, Kewanee, Sheffield and Geneseo, IL. Marlene had owned and operated Fabricland in Kewanee, IL for several years.
Marlene greatly loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and doing whatever she could for them, especially cooking birthday celebrations, making them Christmas stockings and needlepoint works for each. Her hobbies included crocheting and needlepoint work, playing cards, and getting together with friends.
Those surviving are her husband, Gene; daughter Cheryl (David) Garrett, Bloomington, IL; sons, David (Ellen) Moore and Eric (Renee) Moore, all of Geneseo; seven grandchildren, Daniel (Colleen) Garrett, Christopher Garrett, Adam (Amber) Moore, Kasey Moore, Alexander (fiancée, Bryanna Neria) Moore, Jonathan Moore, and Elliott Moore; great-grandchildren, Eric Carriger, Mavrick Carriger, Bradley Garrett, Catherine Garrett and Killian Garrett; and her sister Sharon (Mike) Martini. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Henry “Butch” Haurez, Jr.
