Glen E. Noble, 97, of Cambridge, died Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 25th, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services. Rev. Rick McDaniel will officiating. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
Glen Edward Noble was born November 23, 1918 in Versailles, IL, the son of Arthur and Dora Liehr Noble. He was educated in Cambridge area schools. His marriage to Myrtle D. Hepner took place on January 8, 1938 in Clinton, Iowa. She passed away on April 25, 1986
He had been a farmer all of his life. Glen and Myrtle farmed in the Osco and Cambridge areas. He enjoyed his family, farming, hunting, and fishing. Glen received his pilot's license and loved flying his plane. He lived to see two sets of five generations in his family. His memberships included the Cambridge United Methodist Church, the NRA, and the EAA.
Those surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Ralph Brown, Moline, a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Janet Noble, Cambridge, grandchildren and (spouses) Angela L. Daniels, Moline, Audrey A. Peal, East Moline, Thomas E. Daniels, Aurora, IL, Jeffrey (Genia) Noble, Hesperia, CA, Lance (Chris) Noble, Andover, and Matthew Noble, Cambridge.
Other survivors include great grandchildren, Kristie (Bruce) Leachman, Geneseo, Jason (Valerie) Peal, Cleveland, IL, Jennifer Peal, East Moline, Brent Daniels, Henderson, KY, Shaina Daniels, Aurora, IL, Hannah, Gracie, and Avery Noble, all of Andover, Sophie and Alexis Noble, Hesperia, CA, great great grandchildren, Tirzah and McKenna Leachman, Geneseo, and Eva, John Henry, and Emma Peal, all of Cleveland, IL. Step grandchildren are Russell (Trudy) Brown, Rock Island, Caralee (Jeff) Rath, Moline, Aaron (Vicki) Brown, Orion, and Malinda (Jon) Rodocker, Moline. There are 18 step great grandchildren and five step great great grandchildren. His parents and his wife preceded him in death.
