George M. "Mike" Fritch, 63, formerly of Cambridge, died Sunday, December 11, 2016, at the Richard L. Owens Hospice House, Peoria. Cremation has been accorded and there will be no visitation or services. A private family committal will take place at the St. Dominic’s Cemetery, Wyoming, IL at a later date. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge, is assisting the family.
George Michael Fritch was born August 13, 1953 in Kewanee, the son of George E. and Donna M. Dillon Fritch. He was educated in Wyoming, IL schools and graduated from high school in 1971. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. His marriage to Pamela Kuehne North took place on March 27, 1992 in Kewanee. Mike worked at the John Deere Harvester Plant in East Moline from 1996 until 2014, when he retired due to poor health. He is a member of the Cambridge American Legion Post No. 417 and Cambridge United Methodist Church.
Those surviving are Pamela Fritch, his children, Michael E. (Sara) Fritch, Austin, TX, Kayla L. (Jeremy) Slagel, Montgomery, TX, Dillon P. Fritch, Kewanee, Justin D. (Sarah) North, Morrison, Miles C. Fritch, Cambridge, and two grandchildren, Landen R. Welch and Maximus W. North. Other survivors include his step-mother, Marcella Fritch, Wyoming, IL, a sister, Suzy, a half-brother, Andy, and four step brothers. His parents and a half-brother, Joseph, preceded him in death.
