Genevieve Delp

Genevieve Delp, 97, of Geneseo passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1st at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, 225 E. Park St. Geneseo.  Rev. Ryan Landino officiating.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Geneseo where she was a member for more than 50 years.

Frances Genevieve West was born May 8, 1918 in Cornwall Township, Henry County the daughter of Frank and Alta (Grier) West.  She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1936. On September 27, 1944 she married Arlon E. Delp in Erie, IL.  He died on August 28, 2005.  Genevieve had worked at the Doering residence, Henry Waterman Law office, and at the former Farmers National Bank in Geneseo retiring in 1984.  The couple had farmed in the Geneseo area and moved into the city of Geneseo in February 1977.

Memberships include the Church and the Lamplighter Circle of the church, as well as the Neighborhood Club in Geneseo.  Genevieve enjoyed playing cards and crocheting.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Francie Delp and Robert and Sue Delp, all of Geneseo; five grandchildren, Tonya and Kelan Wells, Erik and Shrhonda Delp, Aaron and Kerri Delp, Jessica and Clay Kuethe and Brittney Delp; 1 great granddaughter and three great grandsons; four step great grandsons; a step great great granddaughter; sister, Elizabeth Gradert, Geneseo; brother, LaVerne West, Geneseo and sister-in-law, Bertha (Richard) Wake. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
