Gary D. Rosenberry, 64, of Kewanee, died Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Unity Point Health - Proctor Hospital, Peoria. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 8th, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge, with military honors. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Gary Rosenberry Memorial Fund.
Gary Dean Rosenberry was born January 26, 1953 in Galesburg, the son of David R. and Wilma F. Williams Rosenberry. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1972. Gary was an assistant reporter with the Rock Island Argus. He also worked as an over-the-road truck driver for 20 years. Gary enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1980 and served on the USS Nimitz as an operations specialist until being discharged in 1985. He was a member of the Galesburg VFW.
Those surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, William and Andrea Cochran, Key Port, NJ, a sister and brother-in-law, Frosie and Robert Ioder, Bradford, several nieces and nephews including a special niece and her husband, Nickie and Ron "Cork" Murphey, Jr., Kewanee. Other survivors included many great nieces, great nephews, and three great great nieces. His parents, two brothers, and a sister preceded him in death.
