Floyd W. "Butch" Hasson, 76, of Cambridge, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 23rd, at the Cambridge Lutheran Church. Rev. Randall Mullin will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services. Memorials may be made to the Cambridge Ambulance Service or the Cambridge Lutheran Church.
Floyd William Hasson was born Augsut 16, 1945 in Davenport, the son of Eugene W. and R. Marie Teal Hasson. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. His marriage to Diane Hepner took place on July 20, 1968 in Cambridge. Butch worked as a machinist for 30 years at the International Harvester, Farmall Plant in Rock Island, and then he worked for the Henry Service Company in Cambridge for seven years until retiring.
His memberships included the Cambridge Lutheran Church and the former Cambridge American Legion Post No. 417. He loved NASCAR, the Chicago Bears, and watching his grandchildren in their various activities. He and Diane enjoyed taking senior bus trips for the last nine years. Butch was able to go on the Honor Flight in 2017 with other veterans from the Vietnam War.
Those surviving are his wife, three sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Katy Hasson, Taylor Ridge, Brent and LeAnna Hasson, Woodhull, and Jeff and Traci Hasson, Geneseo, seven grandchildren, Devin, Blake, Joci, Lexi, Jarett, Karoline and Kenzi. Other survivors include sister, Barb (Lyle) Foster, Davenport, Janet Petersen, Bettendorf, Linda Hill, Milan, Pam (Don) Mortenson, Milan, Cindy Hill, Florida, and Phyliss (Steve) Huber, Milan. His parents, two brothers, and a sister preceded him in death.
