Everett Schnowske, Sr.

October 1, 1931 — February 19, 2021

Everett E. Schnowske, Sr., 89, of Geneseo, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.  Cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Life gathering  will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.  Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge, is assisting the family.

Everett Eugene Schnowske was born October 1, 1931 in Cambridge, the son of Raymond and Mabel Eaton Schnowske.  He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1949 and then served two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  His marriage to Eunice Brennan took place on August 12, 1952, in Cambridge, and together they had three children.  They later divorced.  He married Janice Lewis Bixby on February 14, 2005 in Trophy Club, Texas.  She passed away on March 5, 2020.

He and his brother, Larry, farmed and were owner-operators of Schnowske By Products, Inc.  In 1976 the Cambridge Rotary Club presented the "1976 Sell Cambridge Award" to the Schnowske By Products, in recognition of Outstanding Contributions to the commerce of the community.  Everett was a Life Member of the Grand Lodge of A.F & A.M. Cambridge Lodge No. 49, the American Legion Post 726, Victoria,  and Mystic Lodge No. 160, Order of Eastern Star.  He was that man that never met a stranger.  He will be sadly missed by all.

Those surviving are three children, Everett Eugene (Dawn) Schnowske, Jr., Atkinson, Teresa Jean (Larry) Martens, Geneseo, and Lorinda Marie (Kenneth) DeRue, Atkinson, eight grandchildren , 18 great grandchildren, a brother, Larry (Norine) Schnowske, Cambridge, and a sister-in-law, Joyce Schnowske, Geneseo, and many nieces and nephews.  His parents, his first wife, Eunice, his second wife, Janice, and a brother, Harley Schnowske, preceded him in death.
