Evelyn Lief

Evelyn L. Lief, 95, of Moline, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21 st , at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services. Rev. Randall Swanson will officiate. Burial will be at Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rock Island County Humane Society or UnityPoint Hospice.
Evelyn Louise Bender was born March 13, 1919 in Cambridge, the daughter of Irvin and May Crawford Bender. She was educated in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1937. Her marriage to Chester F. Lief took place on June 29, 1938 in Blue Grass, Iowa. He passed away December 25, 1993. Evelyn and Chester farmed in Cambridge, Elizabeth, IL, and Wyoming, IA, until retiring and moving to Moline in the 1980’s. She enjoyed gardening, caring for her family, talking to the neighbors, and caring for her cat, Bella.
Those surviving are her children, Cheryl (Norman) Banwarth, Red Bluff, CA, Chester F. Lief, Jr., Wyoming, IA, and Linda (Danny) Banks, Moline. Other survivors include seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Her parents, her husband, and a son, Arthur, preceded her in death.
