Elaine J. Bloom, 74, of Galva, died Saturday, September 14, 2019, at her home. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 18th, at the Galva Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services. A private inurnment service will take place at a later date in Bishop Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Elaine Bloom Memorial Fund.
Elaine Joyce Kaiser was born March 30, 1945 in Kewanee, the daughter of Harry L. and June I. Todd Kaiser. She was educated in Galva schools and graduated from Galva High School in 1963. Her marriage to Stephen Bloom took place on November 12, 2002 in Cambridge. He passed away November 18, 2009. Elaine worked as a short order cook at the Cambridge Cafe/Wagon Wheel in Cambridge for many years. She later operated an antique shop, Mrs. B's, in Bishop Hill until her retirement.
She was a member of the Henry County Farm Bureau and the Royal Neighbors of America. Elaine enjoyed flea markets, collecting knickknacks, traveling, gardening, and hosting the Christmas party for all of her nieces and nephews.
Those surviving are two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dean and Sandra Kaiser, Altona, Larry and Charlene Kaiser, Cambridge, a sister-in-law, Janet Bloom, Springfield, Illinois, numerous nieces and nephews, and a special great nephew, Bill, who she helped raise. Her parents, her husband, a sister, Jacqueline, and a brother, John, preceded her in death.
