Edward C. Kelly, 74, of Geneseo “Ed” to some and “Ted” to his family back in Pennsylvania died on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at his home in Geneseo. Cremation rites have been accorded. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Geneseo is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ed was born on June 13, 1943 in Stoneboro, Pennsylvania the son of Edward and Lyda K. (Pearce) Kelly. On Dec. 12, 1970 he married Diane Carothers in rural Grove City, PA. Ed had worked for Cooper-Bessemer in Grove City, PA, for Joy Manufacturing in Franklin, PA and for Beloit Corporation, in Beloit, Wisconsin before retiring. The couple moved to Geneseo to be nearer their son.
Ed was a former member of Rockton United Methodist Church, Rockton, IL where he had served as a Sunday School Teacher. Ed enjoyed wood working for a number of years.
Survivors include his wife, Diane; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Becky Kelly, Geneseo; two twin grandsons, Owen and Erik Kelly, Geneseo; and a brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Lynne Kelly, Nashville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jon.
