Doris Anderson

Doris L. Anderson, 99, formerly of Andover, died Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 24th, at the Augustana Lutheran Church, Andover.  Rev. Cliff Schmidt will officiate.  Burial will be in the Andover Township Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Memorials may be made to the Augustana Lutheran Church or Hillcrest Home.  Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge, is assisting with the arrangements.

Doris Lillian Josephson was born December 26, 1916 in Andover, the daughter of John A. and Ruby E. Johnson Josephson.  She attended Andover schools and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1935.  Her marriage to Wilbert C. Anderson took place on September 10, 1964 in Andover.  He died September 2, 1978.  Doris was a homemaker and baked wedding cakes for many area residents.

Her memberships included the Augustana Lutheran Church and the Joy Circle of the church.  She was a charter member of the Henry County Historical Society, the Andover Historical Society, and the Bishop Hill Vasa #683.  Her hobbies were flower gardening and crocheting.

Those surviving are a sister, Bernyce Ridgeway, Sun City, AZ, a sister-in-law, Betty Josephson, Andover, three nieces, Susan Josephson, Andover, Beverly Josephson, Andover, Kathy Oleson, Sun City, AZ, and many great nieces and great nephews.  Her parents, her husband, a sister, Alice Hutton, and a brother, Kenneth Josephson, and a niece, Phyllis Johnson, preceded her in death.
