Donna Jean Palm, 85, of rural Altona, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10 th , at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services. Rev. Linda Winkelman will officiate. Burial will be at Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Messiah Lutheran Church, Galva, or Hillcrest Home.
Donna Jean Byers was born February 7, 1929 in Cambridge Township, the daughter of Archie S. and Sylvia I. Johnson Byers. She was educated in Cambridge schools and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1946. Her marriage to J. Stanley Palm took place on August 21, 1965 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple lived and farmed south of Cambridge until Stanley’s death on April 12, 2008. Donna was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church of Galva.
Those surviving are a sister-in-law, Rosemarie Sisson, rural Geneseo, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, including Joseph and Matthew Sisson, longtime friends, Ron Koenigs and family, and many special friends and neighbors at Hillcrest Home. Her parents, her husband, and a brother, Amos Sisson, preceded her in death.
