Donald R. Larson, 91, of Andover, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021, at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 26th, at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Andover. Rev. Reed Pedersen will officiate. Burial will be in the Andover Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. before the service at the church. Memorial may be made to the Augustana Lutheran Church. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Donald Robert Larson was born November 16, 1929 in Moline, the son of Arthur R. and Anna O. Engstrom Larson. He attended the Lynn Center school and later graduated from Orion High School in 1947. At an early young age, he worked at Larson & Hultgren Implement in Lynn Center in which his father had ownership. He married Dolores Holliday of Cambridge on November 14, 1948 in Cambridge. She passed away on December 11, 2018, shortly after their 70th wedding anniversary.
He and Dolores farmed for 10 years at Lynn Center before moving to Andover in 1959. He went back to Lynn Center Implement as a mechanic until he retired. He also had a shop out of his home where he repaired lawn mowers and other small engine machines. He loved those John Deeres. Don was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church in Andover.
Those surviving are his son Dennis, Andover, a niece, and a nephew. His parents, his wife, a daughter, Annette, and a brother, Raymond, preceded him in death.
