Dawn M. Boll, 54, of Galva, died Sunday, September 20, 2020, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26th, at the Galva Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services. Rev. Tim Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Cremation will take place after the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be used for a bench to be placed at the Little John Conservation Club in her memory.
Dawn Marie Stevens was born August 30, 1966 in Geneseo, the daughter of Donald and Sharon Wagner Stevens. She was educated in Galva schools and graduated from Galva High School in 1984. Her marriage to Steven E. Boll took place on March 4, 1989 in Bishop Hill. He survives.
She worked in numerous positions at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo, from 1984 to 2019. She was a member of the Little John Conservation Club, Victoria. Dawn bowled on bowling leagues in Galva and Kewanee. She enjoyed camping, reading, and baking (especially her cream pies).
Those surviving are her husband, Steve, her father, Donald "Ducky" Stevens, rural Altona, two sisters, Tammy (Paul) Brody, Galva, Crystal Hook, Cambridge, nieces, Sarah (Brandon) Hopkey, Atkinson, Karla Sterling, Galva, Cassie Hook (Blake Hansen), Annawan, Crista Hook, Cambridge, and Caylie Hook, Cambridge. Other survivors include great nieces, Cheyenne Hopkey, Nevaeh Sterling, and Layne Hansen, and great nephews, Devan Sterling, Drew Hopkey, and Ryder Hansen. Her mother, Sharon Stevens, a nephew, Nathan Stevens, and her grandparents preceded her in death.
