Darlene Riley Nelson, 81, of Geneseo, IL, formerly of Park Rapids MN died April 3, 2015 at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo. . Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 6th at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, 225 E. Park St., Geneseo. Further services and burial will take place in Minnesota. Memorials may be made for Multiple Sclerosis Research
Darlene Riley Nelson was born November 18, 1933 in Goodwin, SD the daughter of Thomas and Mattie Riley. Her marriage to Gordon Theodore Nelson took place on March 6, 1948 in Gary, SD. Gordon passed away February 8, 2003. Darlene and Gordon lived in Park Rapids, MN until moving to Geneseo IL in 2002. Darlene enjoyed a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, crocheting, gardening, and caring for her family.
Those surviving are her children, Marie Nelson, Nampa, ID, Dwayne (Sue) Nelson, Perham MN, Dwight (Doreen) Nelson, Hackensack MN and JoAnne (Dan) Rocha, Geneseo, IL. Other survivors include twelve grandchildren, and twenty-one great grandchildren. Her parents, her husband, and a daughter, Sandra Ann, preceded her in death.
