Dale F. Wirth, 78, of Geneseo died at Liberty Village, Geneseo on Monday, May 9, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 13th at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, 225 E. Park St., Geneseo. Deacon Harley Chaffee will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Geneseo Humane Society or the Antique Engine and Tractor Association.
Dale was born on August 11, 1937, the son of Glenn J. and Irene (Roos) Wirth. He was raised and educated in rural Prophetstown and Geneseo. He married Betty L. Schurvinske on January 9, 1960 in Atkinson. She died on Jan. 15, 2009. He farmed all of his life, for 38 years in dairy farming. In later years he worked part time as a tinsmith at Wirth Plumbing in Geneseo. He enjoyed building things around the farm, tinkering and working on tractors, taking care of his chickens, and feeding the birds. In his earlier years he enjoyed baseball and fishing. Dale had a good sense of humor and wit.
Survivors include three daughters, Brenda (Mike) Dean, Cindy (fiancé, John Savage) Stoner, and Angie (Tim) Kincaid, all of Geneseo; eight grandchildren, Aaron (Laurel) Dean, Adam Dean, Brad (fiancé, Ange Cox) Stoner, Andrew Stoner, Austin Stoner, Brent (Amanda) Kincaid, Brittany Kincaid, and Bryton Kincaid; great grandchildren, Braden Kincaid, Carter Kincaid, Anthony Kincaid, Karolina Kincaid, and Dylan Dean; sisters, Rosemary (John) Doubler, Atkinson, and Diane (Neil) Wehrspann, Geneseo; and brothers, Ramon “Ray” Wirth, Geneseo, and Darrell Wirth, Chicago. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two brothers, Arvid and Ronald Wirth.
