Dale M. Siems, 66, formerly of Kewanee, a resident of Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, January 13th at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Geneseo. Rev. Christopher Bushre will officiate. Burial will be on Friday, January 14th in Winter Cemetery, Winter, WI. Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Hour or American Diabetes Association.
Dale was born March 27, 1944 in Elgin, IL the son of Marvin and Esther (Homeyer) Siems. He graduated from Lake Park High School in Medinah, IL and served in the US Army in Vietnam and then for 10 years in the National Guard. He worked for the State of Illinois Department of Corrections in St. Charles, IL and then in Kewanee. Dale had been a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Kewanee and was an avid sports fan including the Chicago Cubs.
Survivors include his son, Dustin (Katie) Manley, Menomonee Falls, WI; a sister, Lois (Ken) Mensching, Watertown, WI; a brother, Darryl Siems, Freeport, IL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gerald.
