Curtis Brandt

November 5, 1950 — June 10, 2017

Curtis C. Brandt, 66, of rural Sheffield, died Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Colonial Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Princeton, IL.  Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 17th, at the Sheffield Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services.  Rev. Terry Lancaster will officiate.  Burial will be in Bunker Hill Cemetery, Buda.  Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the Peoria Rescue Ministries.

Curtis Charles Brandt was born November 5, 1950 in Kewanee, the son of Charles W. and Ida E. Ballard Brandt.  He was educated in Annawan schools and graduated from Annawan High School in 1968.  His marriage to Norma Brookman took place on June 13, 1982 in Mineral.  Curtis was employed at LTV in Hennepin until it closed.  He was called back when Arcelor-Mettal took over the plant operations.  Curtis retired after 40 years as a member of the United Steel Workers Union.  His hobby was collecting antique and miniature John Deere tractors.

Those surviving are his wife, Norma, children and spouses, Theresa and Wayne Martin, Peoria, Cynthia and Charles Crawley, Peoria Heights, Donald DeVoss, Sheffield, Diana Lee, Mineral, and David DeVoss, East Peoria.  Other survivors include 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, a brother, Ricky Brandt, Mineral, and a sister, Susan (Craig) Wilkinson, Sterling.  His parents, a daughter, Barbara Anderson, and a sister, Helen Sweeney, preceded him in death.
