Clayton L. Dickerson, 60, of Galva, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at his home. Cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m.. Wednesday, Jan. 22nd at. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Galva. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Clayton Dickerson Memorial Fund.
Clayton was born August 26, 1953, in Neponset. His parents were Lawrence “Sonny” and Dorothy Norton Dickerson. He was educated in area schools and graduated from Galva High School in 1971. His marriage to Carol Thompson took place in 1974 in Kewanee. He was employed in sales at Pearson Brother Manufacturing, Galva, for the Better Built implement line for 27 years. Clayton then followed the Better Built line and maintained the equipment through his company, Vacuum Products. He worked as a computer and television repairman through PC Service. Clayton was an avid outdoorsman and hunter and operated the Galva Bait and Shooters Supply.
Those surviving are two sons, Clayton L. Dickerson, II, and his wife, Theresa, Victoria, Corey Dickerson, Galva, four grandchildren, Alex and Brandon Tafflinger, and Daniel and Zayne Dickerson, and two sisters, Diane Cook, Normal, IL, and Laura Dickerson, Peru, IL. His parents, a sister, Sue Dickerson, and an uncle, Wilbur Clayton “Jerry” Norton, preceded him in death.
