Clarence H. Wade, 68, of Atkinson, died Friday, November 13, 2009 in the emergency room of Hammond Henry Hospital, Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 18th at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, 225 E. Park St. Geneseo. Rev. Joe Kobernat will officiate. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Peoria with a graveside service at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Geneseo.
Clarence was born September 25, 1941, in Peoria, IL, the son of Mason and Doris (Glazebrook) Wade. He was united in marriage to Sherrie K. Harms on November 25, 1961 in Mapleton Township, Peoria Co., IL. A U.S. Air Force veteran, Clarence was a member of First Baptist Church, Geneseo and a former member of the Izaak Walton League. He enjoyed grilling and cooking, doing puzzles, camping, his grandchildren, and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Sherrie; four sons, Charles Wade, Geneseo, Gary Wade, Annawan, Robert (Erin) Wade, Geneseo, and Daniel (Charlene) Wade, West De Moines, IA; eleven grandchildren; one great grandson; his mother, Doris Paris, Washington, IL; two sisters, Lori (Keith) Rider, East Peoria, and Nancy (Tim) Voss, Jackson, CA; and two brothers, Jay (Donna) Paris, Princeton, KY, and Nick (Gretel) Paris, Elizabethtown, KY. He was preceded in death by his father, and two brothers, William and Richard Wade.
