Carole Johnson

February 11, 1939 — May 31, 2017

Carole M. Johnson, 78, of Maquon, IL, formerly of Cambridge, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.  Cremation has been accorded and a family memorial gathering will be held at a later date.  Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge, is assisting the family.

Carole Marie Boles was born February 11, 1939 in Melcher, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Eunice Leif Boles.  She was educated in Cambridge schools and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1957.  Carole attended Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg and received an associate degree in Computer Science.  Her marriage to Roderick Johnson took place in the summer of 1988 in Andover.

She was employed at Gates Rubber Plant in Galesburg for several years.  Carole then worked at the Eagles store in Galesburg and later at the Kroger store in Peoria until retiring.  After her retirement, she drove a school bus for the Valley School District.  Her hobbies were gardening, canning, crocheting, and baking cakes.

Those surviving are her husband, Rod, children and spouses, Edward and Connie Johnson, Cambridge, Rodney and Debbie Johnson, Kewanee, Annette Tomlinson, Galesburg, and Frank and Sue Schneider, Roseville, step children, Roddy (Faye) Johnson, Springfield, IL, Patty Brimberry, Texas, Larry Johnson, Galesburg, and Cindy Powelson, Galesburg.  Other survivors include several grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and sisters, Jean (Paul) Smith, Sun City West, AZ, Connie Morris, Bardstown, KY, and Sandy (Pat) Wilckens, Knoxville, IL.  Her parents, a son, Arthur West Johnson, and twin brothers, Ronnie and Donnie Flint, preceded her in death.
