Carl L. Johnson, 74, of Winfield, IL died Friday, October 23, 2009 at Winfield Woods Health Care Center, Winfield, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28th at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, 225 E. Park St. Geneseo. Rev. Dr. John Wohlrabe will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation will from 10:30 until 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
Carl was born July 18, 1935 in Rock Island, IL the son of Carl A. and Myrtle O. (Landgraf) Johnson. He graduated from Geneseo High School in 1953 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps until 1956. He received a bachelor''s degree in History from Augustana College in 1960. Carl had worked as an assembly worker at International Harvester until retiring in 1985. He was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Rockford, IL
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kristine Johnson and Yaser Aldaas, Lombard, IL and son and daughter-in-law, Hugh and Karen Johnson, Glen Ellyn, IL. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Tariq, Ernran, and Haroun Aldaas, and Andrew, Eric and Kathryn Johnson; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Elma Johnson, Lakewood, CO and a sister-in-law, Ona Johnson, Moline. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul Johnson.
