Bernice M. Nimrick, 58, of Cambridge, died Monday, March 31, 2014, at the home of a friend in Moline. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5 th , at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services. Rev. Ronald Clevenger will officiate. Burial will be at Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to the Bernice Nimrick Memorial Fund.
Bernice Mary Blodgett was born October 6, 1955 in Springfield, Massachusetts, the daughter of Vernon and Eleanor Cortright Blodgett. She graduated from Lawrence High School in Lawrence, MA in 1974. Her marriage to James Nimrick took place on August 10, 1974 in Cambridge. He died January 30, 1999.
She attended Black Hawk College in Moline and received her Associate Degree in Medical Billing and Coding in 1987. Bernice has worked at Hammond-Henry Hospital in Geneseo since 1988. She was a member of the Church of God in Cambridge and enjoyed auctions, flea markets, attending church, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Those surviving are two sons, James A. “Beau” Nimrick, Jr. (fiancée-Erika Nipper), Cambridge, Justin (wife-LaVonne) Nimrick, Annawan, six grandchildren, James V. Nimrick, Raven A. Wykert, Dominic A. Nimrick, Alexander L. Nimrick, Ella M. Nimrick, Sophia K. Nimrick, and a special friend, Bruce Strader, Moline. Other survivors include sisters, Cathy Nault, New Hampshire, Cecilia Blodgett, Texas, Rosemarie Collins, Springfield, MA, brothers, Michael Blodgett, Texas, John Blodgett, Massachusetts, Paul Blodgett, Pennsylvania, Richard and Robert Blodgett, both of Houston, TX, and Ken Blodgett, Vermont. Her parents, her husband, and a sister, Theresa Accomando, preceded her in death.
