Bennett Vincent

July 6, 1962 — July 17, 2017

Bennett W. Vincent, 55, of rural Cambridge, died Monday, July 17, 2017 at his home.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 20th at the Cambridge United Methodist Church.  Rev. Rick McDaniel will officiate.  Pastor David Joyce will give the eulogy.  Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Pancreatic Cancer Research.  Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Bennett Wayne Vincent was born July 6, 1962 in Geneseo, the son of Hal Dean and Sally Wells Vincent.  He was educated in Cambridge schools and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1980.  Bennett attended Illinois State University in Normal and graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Business.  His marriage to Bonita A. Brown took place on September 5, 1987 at the Cambridge United Methodist Church.  He was a lifelong farmer.

His memberships include the Cambridge United Methodist Church, Valley View Country Club, Cambridge, and the American Bowling Congress Hall of Fame.  He enjoyed bowling, golf, and family vacations.  Bennett was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Those surviving are his wife, Bonita, a son and daughter-in-law, Brandon & Lynne Thompson, Lutz, FL, a son, Brinton Vincent (fiancée - Perry Alekna) Maquoketa, IA, a daughter, Bailey Vincent, Bettendorf, his parents, Hal Dean and Sally Vincent, Cambridge, a brother and sister-in-law, Mitch and Doreen Vincent, Cambridge, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Joni Secymore, Cambridge, and Angela Vincent and Darryl Cherry, Pearland, TX.  Other survivors include brothers-in-law and their wives, Ron Trout, Atalissa, IA, Dale and Joanne Trout, Saffell, AR, Kevin and Sandy Brown, Abingdon, IL, a sister-in-law and her husband, Brenda and Jeff Brown, Des Plaines, IL, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.  His grandparents and a brother-in-law, Paul Secymore, preceded him in death.
