Barbara J. Spears, 74, of Buda, formerly of Sheffield died on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at her home. Funeral Mass will be recited at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sheffield. Father Mark Miller will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services 401 W. Front St. Annawan, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services and interment will be at a later date in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Annawan. Memorials may be made to her family.
Barbara Jean DeCraene was born March 1, 1945 in Kewanee, IL the daughter of Arthur and Mary E (Faiet) DeCraene. She married Jerry Spears on April 28, 1962 in Sacred Heart Church, Annawan. Barbara had worked at Sauk Trail Inn in Annawan and then operated DeCraene’s Poultry and Bait Shop in Annawan until 1982. She later worked as a cook at Colonial Hall Nursing Home, Princeton for 24 years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Sheffield.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry; daughters, Tina Roberts, Buda, Terianne (Tom) Green, Chillicothe, IL; daughters-in-law, Cindy Spears, Kewanee and Michelle DeVoss, Sheffield; grandsons, Jacob (Tori Rhae), Mike (Audrey); Seth, and Logan; granddaughters, Victoria, Tiffany, Jenifer (Dan), Jessica, and Sarah; step grandsons, Jeremy and Connar; step granddaughter, Danielle; great grandsons, Jordan, Abel, Greyson; great granddaughters, Emmieline and Lorraine; step great granddaughters, Sabriel and Liberty; and step great grandsons, Alex, Parker, and Spencer. She is also survived by a brother, Andrew (Billy) DeCraene; and sisters, Elaine Hilger, and Rose Lowman. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Jesse and Jeffrey; granddaughters, Kaylie and Jasmine; and brothers-in-law, Paul Hilger and Walt Lowman.
