B. Arline Solomonson, 89, of Geneseo, died Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 18th at Stackhouse Moore Funeral Services, 225 E. Park St., Geneseo. Rev. Dr. David Esche will officiate. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery, Coal Valley. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Arline Solomonson Memorial Fund.
The former B. Arline Sellers was born on August 15, 1919 to Francis and Bertha (Blaser) Sellers. She graduated from Coal Valley High School in 1936 and then attended business school in Moline. Arline was united in marriage to Chester John Solomonson on April 14, 1942 in Coal Valley, IL. He died in May of 1966. She had worked at the Rock Island Arsenal for over 25 years.
Arline was a member of the Geneseo First Presbyterian Church, the former Osco and Spring Creek Grange, and the Geneseo Moose Lodge. She enjoyed playing piano, reading, singing, and traveling.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy (John) Miskinis, Kewanee, Carolyn (Bruce) Lough, Orion, and Julie (Wade) Blackert, Mineral; six grandchildren, Jason (Donna) Lough, Coal Valley, Jesup Miskinis, Portland, OR, Joshua (Carrie) Miskinis, Kewanee, Crystal Clementz, Moline, Amber Blackert, Mineral, and Jeremiah Blackert, Mineral; three great grandchildren, Cameron and Sadie Lough, and Parker Miskinis; and a sister, Betty Stauffer, Kewanee. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Chester, and two brothers, Francis and Charles.
