Arvilla Mae “Billie” Douglas, 84, of Geneseo died on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 23rd at First Baptist Church, Geneseo. Rev. Joe Kobernat will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, 225 E. Park St. Geneseo. Memorials may be made to Billie Douglas Memorial Fund.
Billie was born on July 26, 1931 in Erie, IL the daughter of Clarence and Esther Mae (Primmer) Santee. She was raised in Geneseo and graduated from Geneseo High School in 1949. On May 20, 1954 she married Harold Douglas in Hernando, Mississippi. He died on Feb. 21, 2004. Billie had worked at the Geneseo Telephone Company until retiring in 1996. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Geneseo.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and James Lowe, Batavia, IL; grandson, Robert (Elizabeth) Lowe; and granddaughter, Rachel Lowe. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Bruce; brothers, Robert and Richard Santee; and sister, Sarah Schultz.
