Alice Krumtinger

July 20, 1926 — October 23, 2017

Alice A. Krumtinger, 91, formerly of Cambridge, died Monday, October 23, 2017, at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo.  A funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 27th, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Cambridge.  Rev. John Burns will officiate.  Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kewanee.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, with a rosary at 7:00 p.m.  Memorials may be made to St. John Vianney Catholic Church.

Alice Ann Fisher was born July 20, 1926 in Harrisburg, Illinois, the daughter of Carl and Ferris Fearheiley Fisher.  She was educated in Kewanee schools and graduated from Kewanee High School in 1944 .  Alice attended Eureka College for two years, then taught at a one room school house in rural Kewanee until her marriage.  She married James H. Krumtinger on June 25, 1949 in Kewanee.  He passed away on November 12, 1964.

After returning to school to get her BA degree in education, Alice then taught kindergarten at the Cambridge Elementary School from 1968 until 1989 when she retired.  Her memberships include St. John Vianney Catholic Church, where she was a charter member, the Altar and Rosary Society of the church, the Women's Bridge Club, and the Red Hat Society.  She was a charter member of Valley View Club, Cambridge, and a founder of the Cambridge Community Lanes.  Her hobbies were playing cards, table games, bowling, and being a grandmother.

Those surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Joyce Krumtinger, Weldon, IL, James and Sandra Krumtinger, Geneva, IL, five grandchildren, Matthew (Jennifer) Krumtinger, Monticello, IL, Anne (Joe) Larocca, Lake Zurich, IL, Michael Krumtinger, Mokena, IL, Jon (Elizabeth) Krumtinger, Santiago, Chile, and J. Adam (Kristin) Krumtinger, Geneva, IL.  Other survivors include six great grandchildren.  Her parents, her husband, and two sisters, June Bowman and Marilyn Hamilton, preceded her in death.
