Marjorie "Midge" Larson

Marjorie E. "Midge" Larson, 95, of Cambridge, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 12th, at the Augustana Lutheran Church, Andover.  Rev. Reed Pedersen will officiate.  Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge.  Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.  Memorials may be made to the Augustana Lutheran Church.  Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Marjorie Elizabeth Swanson was born December 6, 1926, in Western Township, rural Orion, the daughter of Anton and Maria E. Franzen Swanson.  She graduated from Orion High School in 1944.  Her marriage to Paul L. Larson took place on September 6, 1947, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Orion.  He passed away on May 28, 2021.

She first worked at the Woodhull Plaza as a bookkeeper, and then was employed for 20 plus years at the Henry
County Agriculture Stabilization & Conservation Service in Cambridge, retiring in 1989.  Her memberships include the Augustana Lutheran Church, the Henry County Farm Bureau, and she was a charter member of Valley View Country Club, Cambridge.  Her hobbies were golf, playing cards, dancing, and traveling.

Those surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sandy Larson, Metamora, Illinois, a son-in-law, Bob Gates, Milan, five grandchildren, Kelly (Dan) Bruce, Erin (Ron) Bosch, Jill (Matt Gross) Larson, Brian (Darcy) Glass, Brett (April) Glass, and eight great grandchildren.   Her parents, her husband, a daughter, Sandy Gates, a sister, Phyllis Huntley, and a brother, Kenneth Swanson, preceded her in death.
