Frank A. “Bergy” Bergeson, 82, of Geneseo, died on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Allure of Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12th at the Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Geneseo it will also be live-streamed at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/5442197612. Burial will be in North Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Frank was born on June 3, 1940, in Albert Lea, MN the 2nd oldest of 7 children of Harold and Carolyn (Limpert) Bergeson. He lived most of his life in the Geneseo area. He married Joyce Shackelford and has a daughter, Jamie Myers, Bettendorf, IA; two sisters, Marlys Vermeire, Fuquay, NC and Beverly Stanton, Derby, KS; a brother, Kevin Bergeson, Colona; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Leonard, Lowell (Jim) Bergeson and a nephew, Jeffery Bergeson.
Frank had worked Heavy Construction most of his life including many years at Blackhawk Foundation and was known as “Boss” & “One Way” among other names.
He was always a Farm Boy and with the help of his nephew Andrew Bergeson he was able to keep on farming until his death.. He raised hogs, cattle, corn, soybeans, pumpkins, sweet corn, and always had a large garden.
Frank loved horses, especially Belgian’s, and took pride in owning, taking them to parades, and having their pictures in the newspaper.
He enjoyed playing the lottery, gambling, beer joints, flirting with girls, animals, cowboys, oysters, and Copenhagen snuff. He will be laid to rest next to his brother, Leonard. He will be dearly missed by many, but not all. Rest in Peace Cowboy.
