Betty Ann Ringenberg, 92, of Sheffield, IL died on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the Lacon Rehab and Nursing Home in Lacon, IL. Betty was born October 25, 1929 near Sheffield, IL the daughter of Camiel “Sam” and Ida (VanDeKeere) Emmerson. She married Marvin John Ringenberg on January 27, 1951 at St. Patrick’s Church in Sheffield. Betty and Marvin raised a family of 5 children on a farm outside of town. She is survived by Joseph (and Sally) Ringenberg of Pegram, Tennessee; Claire (and Art) Guede of Metamora, Illinois; Marie Giguere of Woodstock, New York; Jason (and Suzy) Ringenberg of Dickson, Tennessee; and Jerry (and Sheila) Ringenberg of Bainbridge Island, Washington. Her husband Marvin, and two sisters, Arlene Emmerson and Barbara Truedson, preceded her in death.
Among Betty’s many gifts was her service to others. Whether it was through her ministry work or meeting people in the daily course of life, she always showed great interest in others. As a farmer’s wife, Betty had no hesitation to do whatever was needed, and her work ethic and energy was limitless. But foremost, Betty was the mother of a large family and was the true love of Marvin. She was proud of the accomplishments of her children and enjoyed the lives of her 15 grand-children and 12 (and counting with twins expected soon) great-grand-children. She will be missed by her family as well as her large community of friends.
Betty benefited greatly from the worship and fellowship at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and was also active in the charismatic churches in the area. In her dedication to the worship of Jesus Christ, she believed that she would join her deceased husband in the presence of the Lord one day. Her family takes comfort in knowing that the two of them are together again now.
