Annette Brooks, 62, of Cambridge, died Thursday, May 24, 2018, at her home. Her remains are being cremated and there will be no visitation or services. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge, is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the Annette Brooks Memorial Fund.
Annette Kowitz was born April 27, 1956 in Rock Island, the daughter of Wilbur W. and Billie E. Hyatt Kowitz. She was educated in Erie schools. Her marriage to Larry A. Brooks took place on April 13, 1972 in Geneseo. He passed away January 30, 2007. Annette worked at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo, as a CNA until retiring due to disability in 2005.
Those surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Jason Dobbels, Cambridge, two grandsons, Kyle (Sara) Free, Cambridge, and Travis Giese, Nekoma, a granddaughter, Tabatha (Jeremy) Johnson, Kewanee, and three great grandchildren, Jaxon, Harper, and Abraham Free. Other survivors include two sisters, Jeanette (Carl) Kilstrom, Erie, Veronica "Ronnie" Palmer, Cambridge, two brothers, Wilbur Kowitz, Jr., Oceanview, Hawaii, and Eugene Kowitz, Cordova, Tennessee. Her parents, her husband, a son-in-law, Scott Free, and a brother-in-law, Darrell Palmer, preceded her in death.
