Yes. While bodies, in most cases, may be viewed either embalmed or not embalmed for immediate family, we would restrict viewing of a Covid-19 death to embalmed body only due to the health risk of our staff and your loved ones.
If the death is from other than Covid-19, we will continue to make available to immediate family the ability to view their loved one either embalmed or not embalmed.
No. No embalming is required by law for this cause of death providing that disposition is cremation or burial without viewing.
Our funeral home will require embalming of any Covid-19 death that a family wishes to view. This applies to any viewing prior to cremation or burial.
Without the ability for public services, many of you will question how to get your memorials/sympathy cards to a family. In today's world, finding an address for someone is often difficult. While we cannot disclose the address of family members without their permission, we will always forward those condolences to them.
