Jim was born July 25, 1928 in Kewanee, the son of Tom and Alma Johnson Rosenquist.  He was educated in Woodhull and Cambridge grade schools and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1946.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany.  His marriage to Phyllis J. Blue took place on March 25, 1956 in Fairview, Illinois.  She passed away on July 6, 2007.

He worked as a plumber for Poppleton and Munson in Cambridge prior to entering the army.  After his military service, he was engaged in farming for several years.  Jim then moved to Cambridge and built his family home.  He then returned to the plumbing trade, working for Hathaway Plumbing and Heating in Galva.  Jim later worked for Triangle Construction in Cambridge, retiring in 1983.

His memberships included the Cambridge American Legion Post 417, the Cambridge United Methodist Church, and the Swedish House of Nobility.  He enjoyed building “things”, woodworking, history, science, genealogy, building and flying his ultra-lights, attending his kids drum corps shows, and drinking coffee with his friends.

Those surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Nancie and Chris Cassidy, Chillicothe, IL, and a son, Karl Rosenquist, Cambridge.  His parents and his wife preceded him in death.
