Patricia Poppy Golden, 78, of Andulusia, formerly of Cambridge, died Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Friendship Manor in Rock Island. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 5th, at the Cambridge Lutheran Church. Pastor Reed Pedersen will officiate. Burial will be in the Red Oak Cemetery, rural Cambridge. Visitation will be 2-5 Sunday at the Cambridge Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to the Augustana Lutheran Church, Andover, or to Red Oak Cemetery. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Patricia Catharine Libby was born February 13, 1940 in Peoria, the daughter of Ralph and Sadie Streitmatter Libby. Pat was educated in the Wethersfield schools and graduated in 1958. Her marriage to Elden Poppy took place on November 22, 1959 in Kewanee. Pat farmed with Elden in Henry County for 47 years. He died March 22, 2006. Pat then married her high school sweetheart, Jim Golden, on January 2, 2010 in Andalusia.
She enjoyed spending winters in Florida, playing cards, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her memberships include Augustana Lutheran Church, Andover, and its Joy Circle, and the Henry County Farm Bureau women’s group.
Those surviving are her husband, Jim, sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Mindy Poppy, Ken and Diane Poppy and Keith and Heather Poppy all of Lynn Center, grandchildren, Aaron (Ashley) Poppy, Amanda (Ryan) Ferry, Mikayla, Kollin, John, Emma, Sydney, Kelsey and Sarah Poppy. Other survivors include great grandchildren, Eden Poppy and Maddox Ferry, sisters-in-law, Ila Wilson, Orion, Donna Libby, East Moline, and Nancy Libby, Kewanee. Pat is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elden, twin sisters, and two brothers.
