Linda May Lambert was born December 21, 1944 in Harvey, IL, the daughter of William and Frieda Ehrich Lambert.  She attended Homewood-Flossmoor High School and graduated in 1962.  Linda attended Patricia Stevens Career College in Chicago. She then attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in design. Her marriage to Stephen J. Holden took place on September 13, 1973 in Coal Valley.  He passed away October 7, 2011.

She worked as an interior designer for the restaurant industry for many years. Her work included restaurants in the Quad Cities and across the mid-west. While living in Bishop Hill she and her husband operated a pottery/gift shop and a bed and breakfast. After moving from Coal Valley to Bishop Hill, the Holdens were active in various civic activities for a period of time. Among the positions Linda held within the community was as a review officer to assure the historic integrity of the community. Linda also worked at the Bishop Hill Post Office and later became the postmaster.  Mrs. Holden’s professional credentials include membership in the American Society of Interior Designers.

Those surviving are a cousin, Alan Ehrich, Chicago, and neighbors and friends.  Her parents, her husband, and two infant children preceded her in death.
