John L. Michael, 44, of Cambridge, died Monday, October 23, 2017.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 28th at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services.  Elder Bill Currier will officiate.  Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27th at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the John Michael Memorial Fund.

John was born March 10, 1973 in Moline, Illinois, the son of William A. and Elizabeth A. (Carmen) Michael.  He was educated in Moline schools, and graduated in 1991.  He received his bachelor’s degree in history from Augustana College, Rock Island, and his master’s degree in Business Administration from St. Ambrose University, Davenport.  His marriage to Lenna D. Stevens took place on August 3, 1996 in Glenview, IL, in the Chicago Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She survives.  John worked as a cashier at the Dollar General in Cambridge, and was a stay at home dad.  He served on a two year church mission in Rochester, NY from 1993 to 1995 for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Those surviving are his wife, Lenna; and his children, Zoe Dana Michael, Alexis Carmen Michael, Ava Marie Michael, Quinten John Michael, Owen Lyle Michael, Evan Robert Michael, and Stacy Lenna Michael, all of Cambridge.  Other survivors include his parents, William & Elizabeth Michael, Moline, IL; and his siblings, Lyle (Evaet) Michael, Tacoma, WA, Robert (Heather) Michael, Swansea, IL, Curtis Michael, Cheyenne, WY, Daryl (Emily) Michael, Lander, WY, Brenda (William) Johnson, Silvis, IL, Wayne Michael, Moline, IL, and Marianne (Ryan) Jackson, Bloomington, IL.  His grandparents preceded him in death.
